PSC Shocked at the Passing of Lloyd Piggot
The Private Sector Commission (PSC) is deeply saddened at the sudden passing of Mr. Lloyd Piggot, Chairman of the Guyana Association of Trawler Owners, a member organisation of the PSC.
The PSC extends its deepest sympathy to his bereaved wife, children and relatives.
Mr. Piggot was a dynamic leader in the private sector who served with tremendous enthusiasm and dedication in a number of distinguished positions. He was the Managing Director of Georgetown Seafoods Ltd, a Director of Banks DIH and Laparkan Shipping Company, Chairman of the Sea Defence Board and an Executive of the Georgetown Rotary Club. He would be deeply missed for his outstanding contribution and leadership role in all these organisations.
Mr. Piggot was a warm and affable personality who was committed to advancement of the public good in all his endeavours. His recent lead role in resolving the very difficult situation confronting the seafood sector was a shining example of his commitment to dialogue and finding solutions to national problems. He will be deeply missed by his many colleagues and friends in the private sector and in our society at large.
The PSC salutes his outstanding contribution to the welfare of our nation. He will be long remembered.
