MEDIA RELEASE
PSC DEEPLY SADDENED AT PASSING OF BHOOKMOHAN
The Private Sector Commission is deeply
saddened at the passing of Mr. Ramdial Bhookmohan
and extends its deepest sympathies to his bereaved
wife, children and relatives.
Mr. Bhookmohan was a founder member
of the Private Sector Commission which he, along with
others, established in 1992. He served with distinction
on two occasions as the Commission’s Vice-Chairman.
He was closely associated with the establishment and
development of other private sector bodies, most notably
the Berbice Chamber and Development Association and
the Association of Regional Chambers of Commerce (ARCC)
as the organisation’s first President. Under
his leadership, ARCC rapidly developed with the establishment
of Chambers in Linden, the Rupununi and in other rural
areas.
Mr. Bhookman served in his many positions
with tremendous energy and enthusiasm. He was very
passionate in advocating development which could improve
the lives of people and the well-being of communities,
particularly in the rural areas. He was always willing
to help the needy and maintained an active interest
in local government affairs. His ascending the Chairmanship
of the New Building Society was a further expression
of his commitment to service and the well-being of
people.
He will be sorely missed by many for
his warmth, sincerity and dedication. The PSC will
long remember him for his excellent work and steadfastness
in his advocacy for a better Guyana.
